Local Florists

Sweetpea

88 Brighton Rd, Horley RH6 7JQ, UK – 01293 783338

Love this place. Friendly Staff. Great Prices for Flowers & Plants. They do Teddy, Cards, Choc's & Balloons. Great for a chit chat. The Guy who does delivery goes beyond his duties at times.........

The ladies at Sweetpea were so helpful when we got flowers for my Mums funeral. The arrangements were beautiful, exactly what we asked for, even though what I wanted was not in any brochure. I watched a girl making up the word 'Love' in flowers. All very skilled and professional including delivering them all to the funeral directors. Wonderful.

Helgaz Flowers

1b Wheeler’s Lane, Smallfield RH6 9PT, UK – 01342 843777

Laura supplied me with some orange lilies as a gift for my wife and she absolutely loved them! Having known Laura for a few months now, I have developed a great level of trust in the service she provides. Always happy to help and provide advice, with an undeniable passion for what she does. Thanks a million, Laura!

Amazing service. I live in the US and the communication has been excellent. They were very kind and didn't complain when I gave them the wrong address. They went out there way to deliver the flowers as soon as they could. Beautiful flowers too :)

M&S Gatwick South Airport Simply Food

2 Floor South Terminal Arrivals Hall, Redhill, Horley, Gatwick RH6 0NP, UK – 01293 568558

Very easy shopping experience and nicely located by the way out to allow very easy access to food for the continuing journey. Staff here are very polite and tils are always well staffed even when quiet to eliminate any queues before they need to start. Pleasant experience and one I often choose when leaving Gatwick and need some food for the journey home.

Rather cramped considering that most customers are trailing baggage. But very convenient for arriving passengers who will be going home to empty fridges.

Tips - Caring for your flowers once they are delivered

Placing your flowers in vase half to two thirds full with lukewarm water, will help closed buds to start opening.

  • Be careful when un-wrapping a hand-tied bouquet as it is delivered in a water bubble to keep the flowers fresh.
  • Arranging your flowers in cold water should be avoided as this can reduce the their life in the vase.
  • Avoid puting flowers in metal or aluminium containers - glass is ideal. Keep your flowers in a cool location, away from draughts, direct heat or sunlight. Arrange once unwrapped
  • Your flowers may take up to 24 hours after being placed in water to reach their full potential.
  • Strip off all excess foliage and leaves below the water level to reduce any harmful bacteria within the water.
  • Bacteria can block the stem and stop the flowers taking up the water.unwrap. Flowers like their stems trimmed. So, trim them, at an angle with a knife (rather than scissors) by an inch or so. When trimming stems, always cut at an angle of roughly 45degrees; this increases the surface area allowing your flowers to absorb more water.
  • If a Rose starts to droop at the head, re-cut the stem, wrap the head in paper to support it upright and plunge 5cms of the stem into boiling water for about 30seconds. Cut the stem again and place in deep cold water for two hours.trim

Most orders are accompanied by a sachet of cut flower food which will encourage buds to open and help to prolong the life and beauty of your flowers. Top up regularly with water and flower food, removing any fading flowers. Ensure the floristry foam used in arrangements is moist and topped up daily; this helps to prolong the life and vibrancy of your arrangements.
